Joshua's Journey
Joshua is a junior weighing about 165 pounds. When he first started training he wasn't into it as much as he wanted to be. Joshua needed that driving question: "Do I really want this?" For him, the answer was YES! So for the past three months, I have been working with Josh and have seen great improvement both physically and mentally. I have seen strength, progression and a better mindset overall. Josh believed in himself and he believes everyone can achieve greatness. It's all about your mindset.
Emil's Weight Loss Story
Follow Emil's remarkable weight loss journey, going from 260 lbs to 235 lbs through dedicated training and healthy habits. His story exemplifies the power of perseverance and the life-changing impact of fitness. Emil always felt that he wasn't quite were he wanted to be physically. He talked to me, explaining that he wanted to be a better version of himself. He went from going to the gym once a month to going to the gym everyday. Additionally, he began changing what he puts in his body. He started eating healthier, less fat and more protein, eventually achieving his goal. He won't stop there. He will keep working hard and achieve his dream physique -- step by step.
Ethyn's Story
Ethyn always felt like he was weak both physically and mentally. Ethyn wanted to bench 225 and gain more muscle than he has ever had before. Here is Ethyn's success story. At the start, Ethyn struggled with dedication and commitment. He needed to find his driving question -- "How bad do I want this?" He started training almost everyday, taking only 2 rest days a week, becoming more consistent. He was dedicated to improving both his body and mind. As a result he met his goal with the bench of 225 and is happy with his physique. He doesn't plan on stopping though he thrives for more.
DJ's Progression
DJ is a pretty new kid to his school. One of the ways he is comfortable making new friends, is by working out together. DJ asked me if I could train him and show him the ropes. I quickly agreed because I saw something inside him -- a spark. He had already found his driving question. DJ wanted to fill out his frame and get stronger. Especially on the bench press.
Liam Hudson's Journey
Liam is a 6'5" 14 year old basketball player. His goal is to loss weight little by little. Liam says he needs to be a lot leaner in order to push forward with his goal to be a serious basketball player. He wanted to lose about ten pounds of fat over the next three to four months. Not only did he reach his goal but he accomplished so much more along the way. He got a lot stronger with all three of his compound lifts increasing dramatically. Liam says:
"These past three months have really helped me get a leg up on starting my work out journey for the rest of my life. I'm very happy that I took that leap of faith and jumped out of my comfort zone. Without me doing that, I would have never known what I could accomplish in just over the three months."
Tobias's Journey
Follow Tobias through his weight gain journey. Tobias was like any other teen wanting to gain muscle and get as strong as he could. Having a slim and lengthy build and a fast metabolism, it was hard for him to gain weight. He worked around this problem by being consistent in both the gym and the kitchen. With the help of Teen Gym, he knew what to eat and how to gain and maintain muscle. Tobias faced challenges along the way, but he overcame them in the end. Till this day Tobias' journey continuous and he does not plan on stopping anytime soon.
My Journey Through Teaching
What I learned through Teen Gym is that mentoring helps not only the teens I train progress mentally and physically, it also helps me progress. The experience of witnessing and assisting others reach their goals, gave me a newly found inspiration to reach my own health and fitness goals.
And this, was a beneficial vicious cycle! For the teens I trained, watching me achieve my own goals, provided the extra push and inspiration they needed to push through and reach their own goals quickly. I watched them progress far quicker than I did when I first started training. And I'd like to think that is due to my mentorship! That I helped these teens to go above and beyond their goals and walk their own path to greatness.
